  • How do I make a booking?

    Once you find a property you like, click "Book Now" and follow these steps:

    1. Select your dates and number of guests
    2. Review the total cost and cancellation policy
    3. Enter your payment information
    4. Confirm your booking

    You'll receive a confirmation email with all booking details and host contact information.

  • Can I cancel my booking?

    Cancellation policies vary by property. Most hosts offer:

    • Flexible: Full refund 24 hours before check-in
    • Moderate: Full refund 5 days before check-in
    • Strict: 50% refund up to 1 week before check-in

    Check the specific policy on the property page before booking.

  • What if I need to modify my reservation?

    You can modify your booking through your account dashboard or by contacting your host directly. Changes are subject to availability and may affect pricing.

  • How do I list my property?

    Click "List Your Property" in the navigation menu and complete our simple listing process:

    4. House rules and policies

    Our team reviews all listings to ensure quality standards before they go live.

  • What are the hosting fees?

    HomelandBooking charges a service fee of 8% per booking. This covers:

    • Payment processing
    • 24/7 customer support
    • Marketing and promotion
    • Insurance coverage up to KSh 5M

    No setup fees or monthly charges - you only pay when you earn.

  • When do I receive payments?

    Payments are processed 24 hours after your guest checks in. You'll receive funds directly to your registered bank account or mobile money.

    We support M-Pesa, bank transfers, and other local payment methods for your convenience.

Payments & Billing

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We accept various payment methods including:

    • M-Pesa and mobile money
    • Visa and Mastercard
    • Bank transfers
    • PayPal (international guests)

    All transactions are secured with 256-bit SSL encryption.

  • How do refunds work?

    Refunds are processed based on the property's cancellation policy. Once a cancellation is confirmed and eligible for a refund, funds are returned to your original payment method within 5-7 business days.

  • Are there any hidden fees?

    No. The total price you see at checkout is the final price you pay. This includes the nightly rate, our service fee, and any applicable taxes or cleaning fees set by the host. There are no hidden charges.

  • How do I change my password?

    Go to your "Account Settings" and select the "Security" tab. You'll find an option to change your password. You'll need to enter your current password and then your new one.

  • How do I update my profile information?

    You can update your personal details, such as your name, profile picture, and contact information, from your "Account Settings" page under the "Profile" tab.
